हिमाचल: चार लोकसभा में सुक्खू का डंका या नड़ड़ा का कमल ?
General Elections of India 2024 in Himachal Pradesh will be held on 1 June 2024, during the 7th phase, to elect 4 members of the 18th Lok Sabha, and the results are to be declared on 4 June 2024.
During the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP secured a clean sweep in the state, winning all four seats. In the 2019 elections, the saffron party managed a mammoth 69.11% vote share in the state. However, the Congress defeated the BJP by a wide margin in the 2022 Assembly elections, winning 40 of the 68 seats.
Congress has finalized the names of candidates from Shimla and Mandi.
The party has finalized the name of Satpal Raizada from Hamirpur for the Lok Sabha elections. Currently, there is a dilemma in Congress regarding Kangra seat. The party is busy in making OBC Brahmin or Rajput the election candidate from here. The party has already made a Rajput its candidate.
But Congress wants to field someone from Kangra district instead of Chamba. It is being told that a big leader had opposed Asha’s name in the meeting. Keeping in view the regional and caste equations, apart from Asha Kumari, the names of Jagjivan Pal, Dr. Rajesh and Raghuveer Singh Bali are also being brainstormed. The issue is whether will the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu be able to retain all four seats in Himachal Pradesh.
